July 07, 2015 by Kirk Hamilton in music news, music festival

BreakOut West announced their 2015 Festival line-up this morning, which they call a "multi-genre set of showcases spanning the very best of up and coming western Canadian talent."

The showcases will run alongside the Rifflandia Festival (which itself has a pretty great lineup) at venues across Victoria from September 17- 20, and you can find artists like Bend Sinister, BESTiE, Boreal Sons, Gay Nineties, JPNSGRLS, Leeroy Stagger, Rococode, SAVVIE, Shred Kelly, The Matinee, The Wet Secrets, and a whole ton more!

As well as the festival, the West Coast Music Awards Gala, hosted by Grant Lawrence, will take place on the Sunday at the McPherson Playhouse, with performances from Tanya Tagaq, The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer, Annette, Sarah MacDougall, and the 2015 Hall of Fame inductees NoMeansNo!

So head over to Vancouver Island this September to check it out!

Artist of the Week: MALK

July 06, 2015 by Jessica Brodeur

Today's artist of the day is the bluesy grunge getup MALK from Abbotsford. This week they are the headliner for Jam in Jubilee, a weekly live music and arts festival that's part of the ever-growing culture found in Abby. Tere, you'll find food trucks, local artisans, homegrown musical talented and even an after party. It's absolutely worth the short jaunt into the Fraser Valley, and MALK's latest EP Prehistoric is 20 minutes of chilled out 80's rock. Check out the title track below, the spectacularly groovy tune will surely get you hooked.

July 06, 2015 by Christine McAvoy in music news, music festival

The Khatsahlano Festival released the lineup for the music and entertainment on their Facebook event the other day.

It was in a long-text form, so 3am Revelations decided to help you out and make a handy chart of what is happening and where!

Above we have highlights some of our picks and where you'll most likely be seeing us on Saturday, but we've also created a schedule that you can download for yourself and make your own picks - CLICK TO DOWNLOAD!

Remember to wear shoes you're fine with walking in all day (and probably a hat as well), and to stay hydrated, it's going to be another hot one out there!
