Shameless self/cross promotion alert!
If you've been following my own accounts on the social medias (@kirkofdoom) you may have noticed I've been posting about something called Dungeon Punks.
What the heck is Dungeon Punks, you may ask? It’s a live-play Dungeons & Dragons podcast that I’ve been producing/editing for the last year! It features a party of all Bards, who just happen to be in a punk band called Rust Monster. The band tours the land of "Fugazi" while getting into scrapes, playing shows, punching bad guys (and, hell, probably some good guys too), and fighting the evil forces of Metal.
Every episode also includes a couple of songs from punk (or “punk-adjacent”) bands, and much like this very blog you’re reading, we like to spotlight local & Canadian bands. We’ve included everyone from DOA, The Smugglers, and Propagandhi; to Metz, Pup, and Mobina Galore; to Bishop’s Green, Dumb, and Alien Boys. Even bands that may only have a punk influence to them, like The Wet Secrets, Bad Pop, and Miesha & The Spanks. Most importantly, we’ve even written TWO original songs of our own, thanks to Jordan Ardanaz from Phoenix Thunderbird! (Which you can listen to & download on our Patreon page here).
The podcast features Stu Popp as the Dungeon Master (and everyone's Podcast Dad™), along with friend-of-the-blog and occasional photographic contributor Leigh Eldridge, Devin Misner, Fil Cieplak, and Rah Rah’s Erin Passmore as players. New episodes drop every second Wednesday of the month, and there are a couple options to get you started. You can go way back to the VERY FIRST EPISODE and listen through (highly recommended). You can grab our RECAP EPISODE which goes over the happenings of the first 25 episodes, and then start the next story arc with EPISODE 26. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, you can forget all that and just jump right in to EPISODE 28, released today (less recommended, as we’re mid-story arc).
The podcast turns one-year old this week, so I figured I’d give it a little cross-platform bump!
You can subscribe wherever you catch your podcasts (Apple, Google, Stitcher, etc) or from the Podcasts of Doom network. Which, as you might be able to tell was co-founded by myself, along with Stu and Leigh, and will hopefully be home to more podcasts soon!
(And don’t worry, any future 3am-based podcasts will also be posted here)
