You may or may not have heard yet, but #SingItFwd is returning to Vancouver with a special JUNOS edition tomorrow!

The event supports the St James Music Academy, raising awareness and money for this non-profit music school. You can see the band with some of the kids from the SJMA in this shot above!

Song of the Day: March 19, 2018 - "The Dream" by Rich Aucoin

There's so much new music right now it's hard to keep up with!

We have the final instalment of Rich Aucoin's new EP 'Hold', which is out now, with the final single titled "The Dream". Read his own words about the song:
“‘The Dream’ is a song about the contentment we can feel at an individual level when daydreaming or imagining a different world. It’s not about the achieving of making that world come to reality but looks at the various therapeutic benefits from such an endeavour. Whether it be imagining a time where you are not heartbroken, in an estrangement, or in conflict with the changes in your life, that power to picture yourself beyond the given moment is a useful tool for accepting the way things are and getting to that new spot, The Dream.”

Song of the Day: March 18, 2018 - "Nothing Can Take Us" by Adaline

So much new music this week, I'm finally getting to Adaline's new song "Nothing Can Take Us".

Shawna usually gives us dark and moody, but the new track is light and dancey, with a perfectly ear-worm chorus.

She says that the song is about "loyalty and the unbreakable ties we form through time, trust and sometimes forgiveness" - so take a listen below and happy Thursday!

Song of the Day: March 17, 2018 - "Heard It All Before" by Bend Sinister

I'm always excited to hear new stuff from Bend Sinister, and the anthemic "Heard It All Before" is the band on top of their game.

It's the first single from their upcoming album Foolish Games, and the band says the song "is a bit of a cynic's anthem, but really it's the feeling we all get any time some dingbat comes to your door trying to sell you a better version of an alarm clock. Or maybe it’s about relationships or something. Or drugs. Is this a drug song?

Song of the Day: March 16, 2018 - "Burning Money" by Mounties

Put your headphones on and give "Burning Money", the new single from Mounties a listen!

The band (who consists of Hawksley Workman, Steve Bays, Ryan Dahle, and Parker Bossley (and Cary Pratt at least the last time I saw them live)) are finally back with new music!

I haven't found any new info about their sophomore album, or touring, but a new single generally leads to that, so stay...tuned.

Song of the Day: March 15, 2018 - "Telling Peter" by Hearing Trees

After releasing 2 EPs, Winnipeg indie rockers Hearing Trees just released their debut full-length album Quiet Dreams on March 2nd. And not only that, but they're currently in the middle of a massive cross-Canada tour, with a stop here in Vancouver tonight!

Song of the Day: March 14, 2018 - "Motion" by Lovecoast

Need a good dance-it-out song this morning? Lovecoast has you covered.
Their new single (and accompanying music video for) "Motion" is out now - and will be part of their upcoming debut album The Trip (out April 27).

The band is about to head out on tour with Victoria's Towers & Trees, and they will be performing on April 20th at the Fox Cabaret.

Song of the Day: March 13, 2018 - "Finish Line" by Mike Edel

Mike Edel recently released a new song titled "Finish Line" and is on tour with Scenic Route To Alaska (conveniently, they perform tonight at the Rickshaw Theatre).

The single is about time and in Mike's own words "It’s important because it’s the currency of relationship, learning, becoming and it’s the currency of good art, good music and a good song."
