Song of the Day: October 10, 2016 - "My Heart's Always Yours" by Arkells
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
I'm thankful for this new Arkells video from their most recent album Morning Report.
What Canadian band are YOU most thankful for?

The members of My Morning Jacket have been pretty busy of late. Not only did they release a new album last year (with the tease of another one coming shortly after), but guitarist Carl Broemel recently put out a solo album, and now there's a new solo album on the horizon for frontman Jim James.
The fierce protest song "Same Old Lie" is the first tease of the album, titled Eternally Even, out November 4th.
After a couple weeks of teasing, we're finally getting our first aural glimpse of the new album from The Matinée!
"Dancing On Your Grave" is a rootsy rager produced by Jamie Candiloro (who worked with Matinée-favourite Ryan Adams) and rumour has it the album is near complete and will be out later this year!
The Darcys remixed Tegan & Sara's song "Boyfriend".
I danced around my apartment, while cleaning, to it.
And now I pass it along to you.
Listen!
Harold Malcolm (formerly one half of the dearly departed Portage & Main) may have already put out an album earlier this year, but that's not going to stop him from releasing even more new songs.
"Found In You" is a sparkling tune with a touch of an electronic vibe, that once again showcases Harold's indie-pop writing sensibilities.

Choir! Choir! Choir! has started a new video series where a small section of the large group perform a song with an artist in an intimate setting.
The first artist they chose was Hannah Georgas and they performed "Don't Go" from Hannah's recently released album For Evelyn with her. Check it out below!
Hannah will be on tour starting in October and you can catch her in Vancouver on November 2nd with The Darcys!
Donovan Woods just recently released a new EP titled They Are Going Away, and with it a new lyric video for the single "What They Mean".
The song is about "why they say the word crazy in country songs so often" and goes through a narrative of explaining it to a child. It's really pretty sweet in the end, so make sure to give it a listen below!
Donovan is heading out on tour this fall and has a stop in Vancouver on the 11th of November at the Fox Cabaret with Joey Landreth.
Another new song (and video) from July Talk, this single featuring Tanya Tagaq and a driving drum beat that reminded me almost instantly of "Beautiful People" by Marilyn Mason (in a good way, I'd pay to hear July Talk cover that song).
They band's new album Touch is out now, and they are about to embark on a long tour starting in Germany, and then heading through the states and Canada. TWO shows are scheduled for Vancouver after the first sold out - so get your tickets for the November 23rd show with The Zolas.
