We usually would be bringing you some of our picks for concerts to attend in Vancouver this upcoming weekend/week - but since we’re all social distancing (YOU GET IN THAT APARTMENT!), we figured we’d bring you a list of virtual concerts instead.

This list is going to be updated every time we find a new one we thing fits our style, feel free to leave a comment or message us if you know of one that isn’t listed!

FRIDAY MAY 8

Why? Adam’s been doing what he’s calling a “Cross Country Chin Up” on a weekly basis! He has raised money for various Nova Scotia charities too - so don’t miss it!

SATURDAY MAY 9

Who? Shred Kelly

Why? Shred Kelly has been doing regular streams while we’re in lockdown, with the theme being a Saturday Night Cocktail Party. But this week they’ve moved! Both time and location, for a Saturday morning brunch on Side Door!

Who? Demoitis with Said the Whale

Why? Said the Whale is bringing back their podcast Demoitis! The first episode will dive into their debut release, Howe Sounds/Taking Abalonia. They’re teasing/threatening “long-winded deep dives on every song with discussion about lyrics, production, recording and more.”

Why? Adaline may not be able to celebrate the release of her brand new EP in person, so the next best thing is a virtual release party this Saturday afternoon.

Why? Matt Mays is continuing his “Mantle Music” livestream series(?) and promises “Comforting songs of olde and maybe a few newbies.”

Why? Tariq is celebrating the one year release of his album Telegrams by performing the album, and songs that didn’t make the cut, and covers!

Why? If you can’t be with your mom today, hopefully you can invite her to watch Jill Barber Mother's Day Concert with you. The show will also include live interactions with fans offering special dedications and tributes to their mothers.

Why? We’re taking our shameless plug to the virtual world again, and Christine and Kirk will be running a version of our monthly Simpsons trivia online! Woo Hoo! We’ll also shout out to your mom if you want?

Why? Elliott BROOD had having an encore presentation of their 2017 performance at Massey Hall! The band will be online, as they share memories and chat live during the concert!

Who? Said The Whale

Why? Said the Whale is jumping into the stream with a “daylight” and a “moonlight” show this evening. They will be streaming from their three respective places, trading off on songs (and celebrating Jacelyn’s birthday!)

Why? Kathryn Calder is having a ‪”covers night”, performing solo on piano and promising songs by some of her favourite artists!

When? Noon today until late Saturday
Why? Looking for DJ sets to come through the speakers in your living room?…the “Room Service Festival” might be just for you. I spotted Zeds Dead at 8:10pm and Chromeo on the schedule for Saturday at 8:30PM, but it’s two full days of sets starting at noon today.

SATURDAY APRIL 25

Why? The former Barenaked Lady takes to the streams for a show on Saturday. No doubt he’ll be playing his latest single, "Isolation," inspired by life in the lockdown.
