When? Weds Aug 10 & Thurs Aug 11 (respectively) 
Why? If you're able to sneak out of work at lunch (and work close enough to the CBC) I recommend checking out Ward or Lovecoast for a Nooner next week.

Who? Darcys
Where? Commodore Ballroom
When? Thursday August 11 (and Friday August 12)
Why? This is the first trip to Vancouver since the Darcys reincarnation, and I'm so excited to hear the new music. They're opening 2 nights for AWOLNATION (Kirk had to remind me that I HAVE heard a song of theirs before - here), but oh it will be worth it.

Why? The Rio will be playing the documentary about Kathryn Calder and her mother’s battle with ALS, with Kathryn there to introduce the film, perform a few songs, and participate in a Q&A.

Who? Shorefest - Night #3
Where? Sunset Beach & English Bay
When? Saturday July 30 - 3pm to 10pm
Why? The final day/night of the annual Shorefest celebrations are on and features acts like The River & The Road, Good For Grapes, Lovecoast, and ends with Trooper just before the fireworks begin. And it's all free!

Who? Harmony Arts Festival
Where? John Lawson Park, West Vancouver
When? Starts tonight! Until August 7th
Why? Music by the sea in West Vancouver. No, it's not just for retirees. Yes, some awesome local acts such as Jordan Klassen, The Lion, The Bear & The Fox, Terrence Jack, The Pompadoors & more will be playing
