Kirk's Pick

Who? Scenic Route to Alaska w/ Alexandria Maillot
Where? Biltmore Cabaret
When? Saturday June 18
Why? The scenic route to Alaska from Edmonton runs through Vancouver, at the Biltmore on Saturday Night. PLUS, it's Alexandria Maillot's album release party, too!

Christine's Pick

Who? Shotgun Jimmie
Where? The Lido
When? Wednesday June 22
Why? I'm flying back in from Ontario/NXNE this same evening, and I couldn't think of a better show to transition from festival mode. You'll find me on the couches, beer in hand, enjoying Jimmie's show.

Jessica's Pick

Who? Levitation Festival
Where? Commodore Ballroom & across Vancouver (note: the lineup has changed from Malkin Bowl to the Commodore)
When? Kicking off tonight until Sunday
Why? This is the psych-rock event for Vancouver, and the line-up could woo anyone. Tonight's Rickshaw lineup of Holy Fuck, Suuns and Simmering is enough to get me excited, let alone an entire weekend of this festival madness.

Who? Kaylee Johnston EP Release Show
Where? Biltmore Cabaret
When? Friday, June 3 (why, that's tonight!)
Why? Celebrate the release of Kaylee Johnston's brand new EP! And you better be there early enough to catch Windmills, too.

Christine's Pick

Who? VCBW Festival ft. The Matinee, JP Maurice, The Boom Booms, Savvie, Jesse Roper and more
Where? PNE Fairgrounds
When? Friday the 3rd to Sunday the 5th
Why? Not only does your ticket get you into the main attraction (all the beers), this year VCBW had some awesome music lined up. Three nights of concerts with some of the best of BC! Win, win!

Jessica's Pick

Who? At the Drive-In with Le Bucherettes
Where? Commodore Ballroom
When? Tuesday, June 7th
Why? This show will explode your mind. As someone who got into At the Drive-In in the mid-2000's, I always figured I'd never get a chance to see them live because of their indefinite hiatus, but now this is the chance!
