Gigs Of The Week: August 14 - 20, 2015

Every Friday 3am Revelations gives you our picks for some of the fantastic live shows happening in and around our city of Vancouver.
There's much more going on all the time, which you can check out in our concert calendar.
What are you seeing this week? Let us know in the comments below.

Kirk's Pick

Who? Tonye Aganaba and/or Twin Bandit
Where? Just outside of CBC Vancouver
When? Friday, August 14 and/or Tuesday, August 18
Why? CBC Musical Nooners have been running all summer long, and these are two of the upcoming ones I'm eager to check out. Hopefully you see this post with enough time to catch Tonye today at noon o'clock, and Twin Bandit is next Tuesday at, you guessed it, noon.

Jessica's Pick

Who? Cayucas & Hibou
Where? Electric Owl
When? Thursday, August 20
Why? Both of these acts produce music that is mild, sweet, and perfectly summery. Plus, Cayucas had their gear stolen in Vancouver a few tours ago, so show them some love and buy lots of merch to support them and let them know this city loves tour bands. Also stream their new record Dancing in the Blue Lagoon at the beach, on the grass, on your couch, at work... no matter what you're dong, it will make your day better.

Christine's Pick

Who? Van Damsel w/ The Strain, Smash Boom Pow
Where? Biltmore Cabaret
When? Friday August 14 aka Tonight!
Why? Start your weekend right with Kamloops band Van Damsel, whose latest musical offerings are guaranteed to get you moving.

Gigs Of The Week: August 07 - 13, 2015

Kirk's Pick

Who? Wilco with Jenny Lewis
Where? Orpheum Theatre
When? Wednesday, August 12
Why? Wilco. With Jenny Lewis. That's literally all I need to say.

Jessica's Pick

Who? Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival
Where? Burnaby... duh! Deer Lake Park, to be exact.
When? Saturday, August 8
Why? Let The Sheepdogs make you dance in the sun or rain. Plus a 4-pack of tickets is $200. Make it a family event!

Christine's Pick

Who? Phil Collins Tribute Night
Where? The Biltmore Cabaret
When? August 12, 2015
Why? All-star Vancouver line up, covering Phil Collins songs to benefit #SingItFwd. I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord.

Gigs Of The Week: July 31 - Aug 06, 2015

Kirk's Pick

Who? The Wooden Sky & Jordan Klassen
Where? Biltmore Cabaret
When? August 5, 2015
Why? The Wooden Sky is one of the finest folk-rock bands in the country, and add Jordan Klassen to the lineup? It's a no-brainer.

Jessica's Pick

Who? MusArt Society concert series: Dust Radish, Chic Soirée, Jenny Banai
Where? Cates Park, North Vancouver
When? Aug 1, 2 - 5 PM (and every Saturday all summer!)
Why? The feeling of the ocean, the smell of the forest, the sound of music. A trifecta of west coast spoils - if you're lucky you might even get to dance a jig to the fiddle.

Christine's Pick

Who? METZ, with Dilly Dally, Big Ups
Where? Rickshaw Theatre
When? August 3, 2015
Why? It's BC Day! Let's get LOUD!!!
